In an industry flooded with new releases, the album cover needs to grab attention and make a lasting impression. It should not only appeal to existing fans of dark wave and goth but also intrigue new listeners who might be discovering Perfect Bloom for the first time.
The cover must be aesthetically pleasing and artistically significant, but it also needs to function effectively in various marketing contexts. Whether displayed on streaming platforms, in physical stores, or on social media, the cover must maintain its impact and clarity. This requires a design that is both visually striking and versatile.
After several conversations and sharing examples we landed on hearkening back to old country albums, more specifically the style of couple acts like George Jones and Melba Montgomery and how they were always the focus of the covers.

The new design keeps the original feel through maintain the old color palette while the illustration shows Bjork literally shedding her skin from pop icon and into something more.
