Overview
At the heart of the world is an industrial band who released a compilation of two EP’s “All Torments are Just”. The compilation is meant to introduce otherwise overlooked pieces of the band’s catalog.
Problem to solve
Based off of 2 previous designs I made for the band, At the Heart of the world, this music group wanted me to takes aspects of my designs and make a new image that tied both of my previous designs together.
Research & Insight
My original designs had two themes. The first was a coffin being overtaken by vegetation. The second was a snake killing a bunny and they were both being killed by two arrows. So I knew I needed to expand that narrative for this new album cover by lengthening the story from front cover to back cover.
Solution
I created a new album design by combining my illustrations’ themes from 2 previous EPs. The new art spanned both sides of the album cover and built a world where the original illustration elements could exist.
